1.       Define a Strong Value Propositions: Utilize beta tests and case studies to learn what can be gained in today’s market by quantifying the value of the product or service.

2.       Gather Competitive Information: Understand your competitor’s go-to-market strategy, their losses, and continue to analyze their information.

3.       Provide Presentation Templates: Keep your sales team prepared with customizable proposal templates that can target customer needs and help strengthen the uniformity of the messages that sales is pitching. Consistent and ready material means more effective salespeople.

4.       Enforce Training: Facilitate regular discussions about positioning and any difficulties that impact the business. Talk about what the logical steps are in the sales process and how to recognize problems and address them to the team as a whole.

The more involved the sales department is with the marketing team, the higher the likelihood of your products achieving desirable results within months.

Thinking Negatively

Don’t take this literally! Sometimes to maintain a successful Google Adwords campaign is to try the negative approach.

 A negative keyword means a word or phrase that should be left out so it doesn’t trigger an ad impression. For example, if you want to set up a campaign for your wedding gown shop, it would be best not to target those looking for a prom gown since it would waste your bids on phrases that will bring up traffic not looking for wedding gowns. This is when using negative keywords can help your campaigns from being exposed to unnecessary impressions.

Negative keywords can be applied to each individual ad group or the entire ad campaign as a whole. On another note, you may want to separate your “positive” keywords to specific ad groups to better manage performance. Google Adwords provides a tool to help you determine which keywords are best to use for your business.

The more customized you make your PPC campaign, the more streamlined your ads just from filtering out those negatives. Your CPC (Cost Per Click) can in turn be reduced and also result in greater ROI (Return on Investment). Remember, don’t waste your bids- think negatively!

Less is More

Writing email marketing copy that sells means being short and sweet. Remember, less is more- it can be a snore especially when it becomes obvious that your newsletter or email is mean only to sell. So in light of that, ensure that your audience understands the offer you should highlight in the following ways:

1.       The Entrance Counts: As obvious as it sounds, make sure the opening line of your email subject gets to the points and provokes curiosity. This is the first and foremost “foot-in-the-door” approach.

 

2.       Benefits: What’s in it for them? Your prospects won’t be sold until they are first convinced that the benefits of your offer are something they need. Focus on the recipient, not the business itself. “How is what you’re selling going to make their life easier? How will it appeal to them?”  

3.       Be Succinct: In the precious time you have to make an impression on the average attention span, grab your recipients’ attention by bolding important ideas so that they can skim quickly and heed to what is important. It may also be a good strategy to break up your ideas into bullets or write as if you’re engaging somebody in a conversation.  This is also why your email or newsletters should be written in small chunks. And if there is more information to be provided, let the serious reader be directed to an external link to your site.

 

4.       Be Tangible: Take advantage of customer testimonials that show why they love or need your product. Provide real information about the testimony – where the customer is from, their name, and what company they come from. Nothing sells your product better than credibility.

 

5.       Call To Action: Tell your readers exactly what you want from them. This is where you convert already interested prospects to a successful sale. Exercise strong call to action by using accessible links to the offer, displaying your contact information and giving them deadlines of your expiring offer. The point? Make them act now!
